Gear is probably one of the most discussed topics on bicycle touring and bikepacking forums. Not surprisingly so, because everyone wants the best equipment on his or her bicycle touring trip. However, ‘the best’ is a subjective term and can be different per person or situation. Therefore, every bicycle touring gear list is different. It depends on what country or climate you’re cycling, what road surface you’ll encounter, if you’re a light or heavy packer, and many other variables.

We found it very useful to read what other people pack, so here is our bicycle touring gear list for one year on a bike combined with multi-day hikes.
